If you can get a good deal on a new one do that - I got my new 360 from amazon for $150 off when I got a TV (that was the one we wanted) and ended up selling my pre HDMI 360 for slightly more than I paid for my new one

i traded mine in and picked up a new console with the 60gb hd. i originally had a launch-day console that was sent in once... i wanted the new chipset as much as the bigger hd.

i'm not sure on transferring files over, though. i didn't have a lot on my hd, so i just recovered my gamertag and re-downloaded the things i wanted.

No, the guide is MUCH MUCH better, that's the biggest improvement IMO.
Although GoW2 just froze on me ... so ... I think I talked too soon.

But, yeah, the guide is much better, it comes up a lot quicker and jumping from blade to blade is great. Still a couple complaints: We all liked the little notifications when the 360 first came out, with the little animation,b ut that animation is so slow, and you really notice it when trying to invited like, 12 people to a game... and it'll go one after the other for like 60 seconds... "Watcha Invited, Yukon Bomb invited," etc... like you're in the game and those stupid notifications will still come up. It's just a pain.
Opening your friends list can still take a second, but it's faster and works better. Viewing messages is much quicker, but interacting with the message system can still be sluggish. Interacting with music is much quicker because it has it's own blade, and you dont need to wait for the guide to "expand and collapse" anymore... the only exception being that it expands for your friend's list.

Hmmmm... what else.

The onscreen keyboard is way way better, and that's a big improvement. ITs not sluggish and slow like the old one, streamlined nd works better.

Seems like the games loaded to the Hard Drive are going to take some space,not to mention the normal games such as Rock Band and GH with the down load content.. I assume most of you have considered or have already upgraded to a larger HD?

I'm just trying to determine the best route to go here..Keep in mind I have had the RLOD 3 times,got a replacement console each time and the disk drive on the current Box I have runs a little loud when spinning a game,which scares me,so I'm considering an entire replacement and upgrade to make sure I get the newer chipset and a warranty..

What are you guys doing..? Sticking with your current systems,just upgrading your hard drive or nothing..?And how exactly do I transfer over all of my saved content on my 20GB hard drive to a new hard drive if I go wit han upgrade,I have not seen it mentioned anywhere..?

My problem with the current Dashboard is that, while the Blades feel snappy, quick and responsive. The Xbox Guide feels sluggish, and it's such a contrast.

I'm sure the NXE interface is quick and responsive just like the blades were. But how is the responsiveness of the interface that replaced the Guide? A video I saw showed that it might be just as sluggish.

XBL was having connection problems last night. At first I thought it was CoD:WaW messing up, but everyone was getting kicked, even people playing GOW2. We were thinking it might be because they are getting ready for the NXE release, and getting everything ready for the millions of downloads next week.
