AustinWolv 11-06-2003, 03:26 PM Patience issues? ;) Welcome to this site, by the way. OVR = overall SPD = speed (self-explanatory; top-end speed) STR = strength (self-explanatory) AWR = awareness (how smart the player is....if OL can pick up blitz, if WR runs the route well, reacts to the ball well, for CPU QB's it is how aware the QB to throwing to the uncovered receiver, for RB's it'd be like how well they recognize and pick up blitzes) AGI = agility (how well a player cuts and can change direction) ACC = acceleration (how quickly a player gets to their top-end speed) CTH = catch (how good a player's hands are; can they catch well or do they have brick hands basically) CAR = carry (ball security; a higher number means a player takes care of the ball better, ie. doesn't fumble) JMP = vertical jump (mainly for WR's to jump and snag lob passes) BTK = break tackle (how well the player can break tackles) TAK = tackling ability (self-explantory) THP = throwing power (for QB's obviously) THA = throwing accuracy (for QB's obviously) PBK = pass blocking (for OL, TE, HB, and FB obviously) RBK = run blocking (for OL, FB, HB mainly...helps if WR's can block too) KPW = kick power (for kickers and punters) KPA = kick accuracy (for kickers and punters) STA = stamina (how quickly a player tires out and needs to be subbed....higher number means they don't get as tired as quickly) INJ= injury (how resistant a player is to getting injured) In case you didn't know, below I've listed the most important attributes by position. Generally speaking, you look for the following attributes when recruiting: QB's - SPD, AGI, THP, THA...could say AWR too, but since you control him, it isn't imperative unless you are playing coach-only style RB - SPD, AGI, ACC, CAR, CTH, BTK FB - SPD, AGI, ACC, CAR, CTH, BTK, RBK WR - SPD, AGI, ACC, CTH, JMP TE - SPD, AGI, ACC, CTH, JMP, RBK, PBK T - STR, AWR, PBK, RBK G - same as off. tackle C - same as off. tackle DE - SPD, STR, AWR, TAK, DT - same as DE basically OLB - SPD, STR, AWR, CTH, TAK MLB - SPD, STR, AWR, TAK CB - SPD, AWR, AGI, ACC, JMP, TAK FS - SPD, AWR, AGI, ACC, JMP, TAK SS - SPD, STR, AWR, AGI, ACC, JMP, TAK Of course, you want to find players with as many attributes as possible, but those are the key ones by position. While we've never seen 100% confirmation, the community has basically deduced that when recruiting, the following stats determine the attributes shown: 40 times - SPD, ACC vertical jump - JMP, perhaps AGI and ACC Bench press - STR, PBK Squat - STR, RBK, BTK, TAK Hands - CTH GPA - AWR Throwing power - THP obviously Throwing accuracy - THA obviously I think that is all of them, but I can't recall off the top of my head. AUTIGER45 11-07-2003, 03:20 PM :D MANY THANKS! AustinWolv 11-07-2003, 03:31 PM No problem, man. I was just messing with you at the beginning of the message BTW, so don't sweat it. :) Come back and visit often, as we have a solid, fair, non-cheating community here at MP, so if you like to play online, look some of us up. There's even a league that a few of us play in (it is full right now though), so take a look in the league forums too here. And yes, this is probably my favorite game of all time....until next yr's version comes out! :D AUTIGER45 11-07-2003, 03:34 PM  thanks. i am getting set up to play on line next week. when i am set, i would love to play some games on-line. i'll keep y'all posted. |
