'Tiger 11' to feature Ryder Cup |
LINK |
Two pieces of unexpected news come via ESPN Videogames article. First, the news that Tiger will be sharing the cover of this years game - who saw that coming ? Second is a new game mode which will be officially modelled on the Ryder Cup.
Obviously, it's a Ryder Cup year, and the Ryder Cup is a very unique event in golf as it brings in a team element to the sport," explains associate designer Travis Sailer. "We have Celtic Manor, the 2010 Ryder Cup course in the game this year, so you'll be able to play the Ryder Cup on that course in the game. But the thing about the Ryder Cup is, you're not just playing, you're the team captain in the game, so you're even selecting your roster and the pairings. Tiger Woods 11 blog |
LINK |
The first Tiger Woods 11 blog has been posted today. The article is full of details about some of the new features in the game and it's noticable that the developers are taking the approach of making the gamer actually play better as opposed to dumbing down the controls to make it more "accessible".
We're hard at work here on the development of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11, but I figured I would take a break from the action to fill you in on some of the gameplay improvements you can expect to see in this year's game. This feature list represent new features that we've implemented largely based on your feedback and comments. The list is LONG, so let's get started. 2010 FIFA World Cup Q&A |
LINK |
IGN recently posted a Q&A with the producer, Simon Humber, to chat about the upcoming FIFA World Cup videogame. In the interview Humber reveals details of several new features coming that we can expect when the game is released in late April.
We've integrated the Virtual Pro & Gameface from FIFA 10, so when you start your game you can choose to play as a real squad member, create a new player or import your Virtual Pro. For gamers who use a created player/Virtual Pro there are a total of 21 Objectives to go for as well as simply trying to win the mode. Official NCAA Football 11 blog launches |
LINK |
EA Sports have launched their official NCAA Football 11 blog. EA had previously announced a bunch of small additions to the game - including refs on the field during gameplay - and have added some new details including specific information about player equipment.
It's early March, and If you are reading this post it's a safe bet that you are pretty hardcore about NCAA Football, so let's start things off with a few of the improvements we are adding that you the fans have been asking for. This is just the first taste of a long list of additions for this year's game, so before anyone gets up in arms about something not being in this year's game just remember, it's a long way until July. PS3 issue resolved |
LINK |
Late last evening the following update was posted on the official PlayStation blog regarding the earlier PlayStation Network reported issues :
We are aware that the internal clock functionality in the PS3 units other than the slim model, recognized the year 2010 as a leap year. Having the internal clock date change from February 29 to March 1 (both GMT), we have verified that the symptoms are now resolved and that users are able to use their PS3 normally.
If the time displayed on the XMB is still incorrect, users are able to adjust time settings manually or via the internet. If we have new information, we will update you through the PlayStation.Blog or PlayStation.com. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Sony make statement on PS3 problem |
LINK |
 |
From late last night, reports started appearing across the internet about an error that many PlayStation 3 gamers were seeing when they tried to connect online. Within hours, as the volume of reports increased dramatically it became clear that the problem seemed to be affecting a much broader group than those simply trying to connect to the PlayStation Network. It now appears that it might take as long as 24 hours for this problem to be fixed, according to a post by Sony on their official PlayStation blog today.
As you may be aware, some customers have been unable to connect to the PlayStation Network today. This problem affects the models other than the new slim PS3. We believe we have identified that this problem is being caused by a bug in the clock functionality incorporated in the system. Errors include: * The date of the PS3 system may be re-set to Jan 1, 2000. * When the user tries to sign-in to the PlayStation Network, the following message appears on the screen; "An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PlayStation Network (8001050F)". * When the user tries to launch a game, the following error message appears on the screen and the trophy data may disappear; "Failed to install trophies. Please exit your game." * When the user tries to set the time and date of the system via the Internet, the following message appears on the screen; "The current date and time could not be obtained. (8001050F)" * Users are not able to playback certain rental video downloaded from the PlayStation Store before the expiration date. We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data. As mentioned above, Please be advised that the new slim PS3 is not affected with this error. We are doing our best to resolve the issue and do apologize for any inconvenience caused. For the latest status on this situation please check either the PlayStation blog (blog.us.playstation.com) or PlayStation.com. First NCAA 11 screenshot |
LINK |
The first screenshot of NCAA 11 has been posted on ESPN Videogames. It's an impressive looking image and along with the first image of the game, EA has also chosen this ESPN article to announce some new additions to the game for this years iteration.
"ESPN caught up with producers Haumiller and Russ Kiniry to get the dirt on some of the improvements being made to "NCAA Football 11" that they will be blogging about for EA Sports beginning next week. And while a slew of much bigger features will be announced in the near future, anyone who plays the game passionately will find some additions to the game in this list that have been sorely needed for years."Posted by : AndyP at 17:15 on Friday, February 26 2010Tagged with : NCAA 11 screenshot

FIFA 10 Ultimate Team Q&A |
LINK |
ESPN Videogames has posted a Q&A with Ultimate Team 2010 lead producer Paul Hossack.
"For those who didn't play the surprisingly popular "Ultimate Team" last year (the mode sold in the hundreds of thousands, according to EA), "FIFA's" line producer, Paul Hossack, describes it as "an extension to 'FIFA 10' that gives you a whole new way to play." To be more precise, gamers are putting together teams by collecting players, then trying to find the right combination of skill and chemistry to build the best lineup."Posted by : AndyP at 18:36 on Thursday, February 25 2010Tagged with : FIFA DLC 10
